Asian Indian Mayan, Columbian?? Brass panel 2 sides anthropomorphic

I found this highly detailed heavy brass panel with high relief on 2 sides and have been admiring and wondering about it's origin for awhile now.
It measures about 3 inches (3") square and has the loop with hole for hanging.
The detail is captivating with so many animals, serpents and also what appears to be sails.
It reminds me of an oriental or Tibetan, or Persian rug with the center motif and border design.
This must be an important artistic rendering in brass as it has thorough and surprising detail for the size and the material
