An item with multi-cross-collectability. This is the railway lock E.C. Simmons made for the Santa Fe Railroad. This is great for lock collectors, railroad memorabilia collectors, tool collectors, etc. Notice the chamber goes completely through the lock.

Nice lock. What is the loop on the bottom for?

Maybe it was to hang on something for easy carrying, but I'm not sure

Another cool one!
I think the loop was for a chain so that when the padlock was opened and away from the hasp it did not get lost.
