We recently moved into a house and this was left behind. Anyone have any ideas of style, maker or worth?
    Thank you

It's a beauty. What you can do is look underneath, it may just have a tag or marking under there. Look and the back of the wood, the legs too. I can tell you that by seeing how many upholstery tacks have been used, the original cost was high so I'm sure the resale on this would be high too. (It's not only the tacks that tell me that, it's just a reference for you) When those tacks are so close as the ones here, that is a big clue to the value if it's original upholstery and I believe this is.

The value might have been high at one time, but prices fell to the basement several years ago and have not recovered.

The resale value might not be huge (at the moment), but it's a beautifully made, probably high quality sofa, and there are still a lot of people who dig this style. It's so worth restoring!

So would this be considered an "Edwardian" sofa? Does anyone know of a good online resource for classifying antique furniture, especially sofas? I have one similar that I would like to restore but would like to know more about its style history so I can properly restore it. Thanks!
