Can anyone tell me about this Gorham spoon this pendant was made out of is? I know that stone is a moonstone but I want to know what the name of the pattern of the spoon. I was told it is from 1933-1941 but I still haven't been able to figure out the design's name. Thank you!

That's a beauty! It looks like a moonstone to me, but I'm not sure about that. Someone will be by and let you know for sure. So pretty!

Thanks. You have a good eye, it is a moonstone. I'd really like to know more about the spoon the pendant was made out of though. All the artist could give me was: Gorham and 1933-1941. My searches haven't been successful so far. ????

Thanks. I think I might just have an idea...let me check something and I'll get back to you on it...

I love the old jewelry made of sterling flatware. The patterns were always so awesome!

Thank you I will check that site out. I love the repurposing of old things too - giving things new life and appreciating the history of a piece. You can find som really neat ones at arts&craft shows and on etsy.

I didn't see it...But maybe it's just the fact that it's late. And possibly the artist had the wrong info and it's the wrong company. I'll try that site again in the morning. Thank you, shareurpassion! If anyone else has any clue I'd it. Thanks!

The stone looks like rainbow moonstone. Or labradorite. . Both my favorites. . Beautiful!

shareurpassion - there's a lot of spoons there - which one do you think it could be?
    9. Rachel221B, 8 years ago
Yes, it is a moonstone. I have no clue about the spoons design. I scrolled through the ones pictured on that website you suggested? but didn't see it. So, now I'm wondering if it really is a Gorham.
    10. Rachel221B, 8 years ago
No,no,no. What we gave here is a misunderstanding. I know EXACTLY what the stone is. Yes, it is a rainbow moonstone. I want to know what the SPOON part is. What is the name of the pattern design - I have been told manufacturered by Gorham 1933-1941.

Hey ya...You know, it may even be from a ladle because it does look rather large. Sometimes sellers to tell some tall tales too because they just don't know but don't want you to know that. BUT I would say take a peek at their ladles. I don't remember if they were with the spoons there or not. What ever it was that was used is certainly a gorgeous piece. BTW...I'm on etsy every day ;)

That def could be a ladle. You haven't said what size it is...

If I had to guess, I would guess Chantilly. Remember the silver has been flattened while working it into a pendant.
    14. Rachel221B, 8 years ago
Thank you! I completely had a "duh" moment when you said that. When I went back and look at the Chantilly pattern and and compare it to my pendant I can see it now. With the way it was flattened, cut and then treated to have a matte finish the end result reinvents the spoon while still keeping certain elements. Mystery solved. Thank you to all the helpful detectives out there!
