I'm always on the look out for different types of jewellery and this I think is one, a necklace by Robert Crerar a Scottish jeweller. I also have a pair of earrings by him which I'll put on a separate post.
I've researched Robert Crerar there is some information, not much, I'll put a link below in the comments.
Well were do I start with this necklace, the markings are R C of course for Robert Crerar, the hallmarks are for Edinburgh and the date mark is for 1981. The metals are gold and silver, the stones are lapis lazuli and the two circle drop stones are opals. I think the pendant itself represents maybe a cross. I think that the black and white in the square and diamond shape are acrylic. It really is stunning necklace and I love wearing it, it is definitely a keeper and I hope I have chance to wear it a lot more in the future.
Many thanks for looking.

Bob Crerar lives in Fife. He studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art Dundee.( 1961- 65). He is a wonderful goldsmith and has worked extensively for the Royal Family. He is modest and although he can put Prince Charles’ three feathers after his name as you say many know little about him. He was recently commissioned by Prince Charles to make a large ceremonial piece for the Blackwatch. Your necklace is typical of his early articulated work. Lovely!
I would like to say..It's just stunning necklace..
Sorry Djpainter for the late response. Yes this necklace and the earrings are prefect to wear and the design is original. I have looked for other pieces of his work but found nothing so I think I’m very lucky to have this set. Thank you for commenting on my post it’s much appreciated.
Many thanks worthit, I really appreciate your comment.
