    I bought this years ago in Idaho but there is damage to the canvas - a tear in the lower right. I've always been curious and can't find the artist - enclosed last photo is the signature lower left of painting. It could be indeciferable ...and then Henry Bennett t (?) I looked up William Henry Barrett and he did an etching in the Getty entitled "Antioch to Aleppo "any help would be appreciated

      Where do slaves come into this ?

      Hi Blunderbuss, I shouldn't probably have put that but if you look to the left of the painting there are several workers walking near the river. It's a real dichotomy with the castle on the right.
