Basically a simple pair of scissors. The only thing not basic is the Keen Kutter logo on the top blade. (Well, since it's not the typical bar and wedge logo, I guess it is considered basic. I have noticed the bar and wedge logo IS on the piece, just above the screw.) Any item by Keen Kutter wasn't just basic in general though. These tools were indeed very reliable due to being made out of exquisitely high quality steel. I own a pair of hedge clippers (Yes, this brand) that still cut like new, despite being almost 80 years old and somewhat worn and "rusty"
