I have had this stool for a few years but haven't posted it as someone added ugly wooden feet to it. Made it a full 5 1/2" taller. Someone went to a lot of work involving a lathe and then put them in using screws and nails. A nice touch was the pointy end of the nails sticking out the other side. Probably seemed like a good idea at the time. Took me about an hour to remove them.
Anyway this is the classic Cosco folding stool made by Hamilton Manufacturing in Indiana. The new ones are made in China. It has the two step stool section, a back on the stool and it is red which all add up to the classic version. OK there were some later versions that also had these qualities but not quite the style.
These are usually said to be 1950s, probably around from that time plus or minus.
It does have the typical painting damage this stools tend to have. A few drops on the front side with some spray paint on the back. I think I can get off some of that spray paint.
I do need to get some plastic feet for it now.

Seem to think of Cosco as a modern Co. nice to see a older item with the name and on such a handy item.
Reading your profile I couldn't help recalling my bear skin rug that I had when young it had all the claws and teeth but my Mom was looking for more things to put in her yard sale and dragged that out selling it for a massive $12.00 Ugggg
      Have a good 1

Thank you very much PoliticalPinbacks. As you know I am a mountain man in a log cabin a bear skin rug is high on the list. I would have paid much more than $12. Sadly moms and your old stuff seem to have many unfortunate stories.

Likely rather fortunate for those attending her sales LOL ah if we could turn back time

I would be buying GI Joes and leaving everything in the package but I couldn'y afford those then.
