I'm looking for information on an African (?) wooden statue. The seller told me that it dates back to the 18th century but I have doubts about it.
The measurements are 20x20cm
Can anyone tell me where this statue was made and possibly how old it is?
Thank you for any answers.
Thanks aura for loving it.

Hairstyles whose braids are gathered backwards, checkerboard scarifications dotted on the body are part of the features of the baoulé statuary. Heterogeneous dark patina chipped. Two types of statues are produced by the baoulé in the ritual framework: the statues Waka-Sona , " being wood " in baoulé, evoke a asssousou , be of the earth. They are part of a type of statues intended to be used as a medium tool by The Komian soothsayers, the latter being selected by the spirits asye usu in order to communicate the revelations of the afterlife. The second type of statues are the spouses of the afterlife, male, Blolo bian or feminine, the blolo bia .
