PostCardCo…

Please look at photos 2 and 3, where you can see that a bit of vivid coloring was done on an already sligtly toned colored card. Someone has out lined the images in paces and added additional touches--I have no clue why--but it was done, I assume, after the card was finished and sold, but I am not sure, In photos 2 and 3--I enlarged areas and slanted card a little sideways so hopefully, if you look closely you can see how the applications were done with a fine brush. I think they are pretty, but unusual
I don't think this will affect the card in a negative way by compromising the integrity--what do you think?? Postmark is smeared, but I think 1915-20. Very good condition Matte finish.
Thanks much to mrstyndall,vetrao50 and antiquerose
The colour is very over-enhanced, to the point of looking almost too vibrant to have been done 90 years ago.
I was thinking the same thing--and it does look applied over the top of the cards 'To see that plainly in photo 2&3 I turned them slightly lightened them a bit . This is the first time I have seen something like this-- and the first I have collected. The fact that they are authentic vintage cards---and sold so cheap--less than $1.00 per card, makes me think that the added color, was making them LESS the normal value. But the bottom line is I still find it in my "heart" to love them--so all in all, they found the right person with 2 vacancies in my many, many, TOO MANY albums.

The stamp looked too modern to me, so I did a little research.

Try a UV light if you have it. The cards should light up under it as, I believe, they over-did it with optical brighteners as they were just beginning to add them around WW2.
The postcards could be way before 1942--but the stamps are. Could have been mailed anytime of course--From handling postcards , they still seem to be actual vintage---but in no way can I say it is positively so.They have logos on the fronts, but I don't suppose anything can be learned there--EXCEPT, I never see logos on the front on any postcards. These are odd anyway I look at them now, especially since you have added your thoughts, about new inferences and facts . THANKS!! I love it when more can be gleaned--I love to wonder. I say
" I wonder"...... more than any woman alive. Especially so, on this site.
Thanks Master, for loving this.
