I Am Wondering If There Is Anyone That Could Possibly Tell Me About This Unique Glass Jar It Is About 8" Across With The Entire World Encircled Around It ! The Whole Jar Is Is Clear and The Top screws Off Much Simular To The Ball Canning Jars ! But After Unscrewing It It Does Not Have The Metal Cap covering The The Hole , It Is A Round Glass Piece Covering The Opening !
Does Anyone Know Its Origin / Year And , What It Was Used For Back In The Day ? I Am Surely Curious To All Thank You !
Presto jars were made by Owens-Illinois in Toledo 1940s through the mid-1950s
(maybe, I'm no pro)
Pictures of bottom and threads without lid may help with identification - my sense is this is an old lid on a new jar.
This lid is not original to this jar. That being said, the jar is likely a product jar of some sort, maybe as early as the 1930s or as late as the 1970s. Is there a design patent number on the base? That would help narrow down the time frame somewhat.
