pair of SNAP-ON TOOLS socket wrench styled hiball glasses

Gotta start adding pics of the glassware collection(s) sometime too, so here goes with a recent addition from my favorite thrift store.

This neat pair of chromed hiball glasses is made to mimic the appearance of a SNAP-ON brand 7/16" deep socket wrench, with the design and markings around the bottom of each as would be found on the actual tool -- but instead of being machined into metal, the design is a glittery textured silver material applied to the outside of the glasses somehow. Unlike the real tool, there are no triangular ridges on their inner surfaces nor (thankfully!) square holes in the center of their bottoms. No doubt the lack of these last two 'original details' contributes greatly to their actual usability?! :-) Each hiball glass is roughly 6" high and 3" diameter.

I don't know their actual age or history, but would have to guess they were produced as a promotional item for the SNAP-ON Company, probably in recent decades. They *might* have been made by Libby Glass, its very hard to see due to indistinct molding, but something appearing similar to their cursive "L" logo appears in the center of each one's base. They're made of relatively thin likely non-tempered glass, so even despite the potential fragility of the chroming finish, they're probably not very durable. In fact, I only bought them after what I first noticed as a 'set of 3 marked as a set of 4' in the store (and didn't buy) magically turned into a "pair" in another week's time...no doubt the other one or two bit it on their shelf/floor meanwhiles. :-(
