I have been asked to find a value for this vintage Singer sewing machine. This is an old hand crank model, and I know nothing about it... Serial # is F4952859. Machine is in excellent shape, and is alleged to still work. Wooden case is in great shape too, and has the key. I also have all the shoes and accessories for the machine. I plan to list this on eBay, but would like to establish a value first.
Thanks in advance!
That is a very nice machine . I can not give you a value for it . However I can give you some advise . If you do sell it on E-Bay and plain to ship it you should know how to pack it . Many machines get broken in shipping because of not being properly packed . You can go to this web site and find instructions on how to pack such a machine . < wefixit , shade tree mechanics > You many have to join in order to find and view the files , but it is free to join . You can also ask there about this machine and the people there would be happy to help you .
There is also a place on the wefixit site for sewing machines and items for sale .
Thanks Nancy.. Link for that site?
The machine is a Singer 28 made in the first half of 1914. I have bought these for under $50 and even had one given to me - but value depends on where you live and how much the buyer is prepared to pay - and Nancy is very correct aobut packing, machines get damaged very easily when freighted.
