The first Tarzan Dell issue was Jan. 1948-1962 then changed to GoldKey. It is one of the better Tarzan comic book series. #75 is an above average story.

When my dad was a teen (16) in Chicago, Johnny Wiesmueller, knocked my dad into the Garfield Park Lagoon. They were strangers and "Tarzan to be" was a few years older, but the same size as my dad. Seeing my dad struggling, he had to dive in and rescue him. I think my dad was better looking than Tarzan and there was a jealousy issue going on competing for the girls that hung around the lagoon. Tarzan saw competition with my dad. They remained hostile. But to my knowledge never actually fought.
