This is a very ordinary Kralik rose bowl shape, but the colour and the 'feel' of the glass less so.
Oddest though is the feel of the glass......it's exceptionally smooth and in that respect unlike any other piece of glass I have! Between the lobes there's a narrow strip of glass that is very glossy but the lobes themselves are less glossy, but not mat enough to be satin glass. This makes me think it had some sort of surface treatment, but what I don't know. It is not iridescent, perhaps you might call it 'pearly' The rim discloses two/three layers, none of them clear.
Any ideas on what type of glass this may be would be be very welcome.
Diameter 14 cm./5.5 inches
I guess you might call this Teal Peggy?
It's that type of green, Phil, but paler. It's the finish it has on it that puzzles me. It's definitely old though.
Would it have feasibly have been called opalgrun - opal green?
Thank you, Ian, for the suggestion. Oddly it was one of your posts, where Michelle named the type of glass in one of your pieces, that made me wonder whether the glass of this bowl might have a name. It does seem feasible.
Thank you for the 'loves' everyone :)
