I found this today when I picked up a bunch of Vaseline glass inexpensively at a thrift store. But I've never seen anything like it before. I thought it was a salt pinch at first but this thing it is kind of large and deep for that. Does anyone have any ideas? It is 1 3/4 inches tall and 2 1/4 x 2 3/4 wide.

Vaseline glass is yellow like the petroleum jelly for which it is named so it isn't Vaseline. Probably depression glass would be a better category. Most likely is a salt cellar.

It is most definitely Vaseline glass. I've been collecting it for over 20 years. And it registers on the Geiger counter.

      And there is this. http://www.ebay.com/gds/How-to-Identify-Vaseline-Glass-/10000000178723039/g.html

The article does not contradict me. I believe paragragh two touches on the controversy. I would add that Vaseline glass and green glass have separate patterns and manufaturers. Vaseline is associated with EAPG and green glass with depression glass. Yes both glow and have uranium.
