There is no mistaking the makers of this bracelet even if there are no marks, it is Gladys and Charles Mumford. They have a very distinctive style with their leaves and their scrolls, I was very lucky to spot this one. It's always nice to find bracelets and necklaces of theirs, I do keep my eyes out for them. This bracelet would probably have been made during the 1950s-60.
Gladys and Charles Mumford made pieces in the arts and crafts tradition and retailed them through their premises in Falmouth until 1963. Originally from Stratford-Upon-Avon, they visited Falmouth on holiday and fell in love with the town, deciding to move there permanently. It is reputed that Gladys was the more accomplished silversmith of the two.
Many thanks for looking.
They are simple in design but very effective, as you say the quality is excellent. I'm beginning to get quite a collection of their work, hopefully in the future some thing else of theirs will come along. Thank you kindly for you comment valentino.
Many thanks
