    I purchased this carving a couple of years ago from a shop in Hannibal, Missouri. The piece was carved by Justin Locke in 1935. Locke was better known as a photographer, including work for National Geographic in the 1940's. In fact, I have not seen another sculpture by Locke. But, the quality of this piece would suggest that it is not the one and only sculpture that Locke produced.
