A nice thing about collecting depression glass is that it can still be purchased not a great deal of money. The bad thing is that it is often reproduced and can contaminate your collection. A few repro pieces can cast doubt on your entire collection.
Anyway my collection is quite contaminated so all the repro stuff is going to the thrift store. No big as I need the room.
The pieces here are Madrid by Federal made from 1932-1939. Not counting their Recollections counterpart that is.
The real tea cub can be IDed as the where the handle joins the cup on the bottom half. There should be a pointed tear drop shape.
Next are a pair of soup/cereal bowls. For this one the real one is on the right. The decoration on the rim goes beyond the rim. The repro has about a quarter inch border between the decoration and the inside edge of the rim. Checking the rim is a good guide for other Madrid pieces.
