I know it is a corner chair but that is all I know. Please help. It has some carvings of a head on the backs of each chair. It is two sided and that is the part I don't understand. I believe it has been reupholstered.
I never happened to see this called a corner chair. I wonder where in your research you found that? I enjoy chairs and I am here to learn like everyone else. I have only seen them called a courting chair/bench or a tete a tete. When you were courting your favorite girl there was a barrier between you. I have also seen them called a yin yahn chair but never a corner chair.
I know this is an old post, but I just wanted to chime in that my grandmother had one of these and she called it a "courting chair". She told me it was meant for a boy and girl to sit together facing each other while courting.
