Ceremonial German WWII drum from the 1930s, emblem on one side, drum 24" wide. Been up in the loft since the 1970s. Can not vouch if the emblem was there in the 1930s or done later, but is certainly old !
Nice collectors item if real. Never seen one in a collection.
Its certainly unusual, been kept up in an attic for many years
Would look great on my table at a gun show.
Welcome to CW barbieboy ;p hang around ya never know what you might see here.
Unusual indeed, not in my wheelhouse of collecting but I'm sure a few here will know a bit more about it.
The wear and tear that would be expected isn't there. It's fake.
Maybe however wear and tear alone means little
Look at the metal on this drum. Do those parts look like they're 80-90 years old? Photos from the era also show Nazi drums had painted markings on the side, unlike this one. The eagle graphic does not look correct (head too simplified).
"By a German army order of August 1933, all military snare and side drums were to be painted white on the inside and on top of the wooden drum rings, whilst the outsides should have 39 red lacquered isosceles triangles along the outer edge, with 39 black triangles along the bottom edge, both pointing inwards, with the resulting squares pattern formed between the triangles in white. ..."

Yep I know nothing about drums let alone from WWII just saying wear and tear alone was not enough now we know more, Nazi sells sad but true
So many reproductions and that works for some but can cause confusion in collecting, The government made a law (for pinbacks anyhow not sure what all it covers) that they must be clearly marked as such too many people were paying top dollar only to find out there button was made last week in a garage.
The head does look somewhat like a buzzard. Maybe it was put on there late in the war, --- like maybe 2009. LOL !!
Thanks for all the comments, have added another pic of it with the eagle. The metalwork on the drum looks like the chrome had worn off and someone has tried to brighten it up at some point.
That head is definitely not right. A.H. would cringe.
Wonder what these couple of items would be worth ? Originals or not they are very attractive pieces in their own right and one offs
There are certain groups that would probably luv to buy them. If you are Jewish, I would suggest getting somebody else contact them . LOL !
Those people who threw that Trump inaugural party where they saluted like Nazis would be your best bet .
Haha !!!
I used to live on Queensgate Gardens SW7. I take it that photo was not taken in front of the German embassy.
Ohhh don't tempt me !!
