This is a Swiss Linden (made of Linden wood) doll. Carved in Switzerland around 1950 or earlier. Adolf Thomann or his son Paul who carved dolls for tourists in Switzerland circa the 1900’s into the mid 1900’s. This Swiss Girl measures approximately 10 1/4” in height. She is all wood, the face is smooth. Elbows, knees, neck, shoulders and legs are all jointed. She has bloomers underneath the dress that are of a lace from the knees down. There is also a pleated slip underneath. There are some sort of marks on the feet but even with a magnifying glass, I really couldn't make them out.
