handcrafted clay pipe

This is an old handcrafted clay pipe with a bamboo stem. There is an amethyst attached between the bowl and the stem. The face that is attached to the bowl is also clay. The troll/wizard head is wearing a wizard's cap and has pointed ears with a long pointed nose. We have searched to find the history or if there are any like it but have come up empty handed. Any info you could provide would be appreciated.
