I believe this is part of the Livelyaire line of fans by Westinghouse in the 1950s. This example is the model 10 LD. It is one speed fan that is non oscillating and the least expensive of the line I believe.
Westinghouse made this style of fan for several years. I have a different model from 1947 with the same cage design. The most common version I see is the brown one with plastic blades.
The back section of this fan is the most attractive part. It has the radiator lines along the bullet shaped motor housing. Nice base too. Unlike other fans of the period this fan had a cast body and base, others were using pressed steel.
Despite being one speed it is fun to operate. Sounds like an airplane taking off.
It has a hole on the back of the base for hanging it on the wall.

LOL, I know the aeroplane sound too well from my last fan.
I'm about to restore a late 1920s Polar Cub. Just picked up some supplies today.

Thank you very much SpiritBear. Polar Cubs are neat little fans. Are you getting a cloth covered cord for it?

I just ordered one off e-Bay tonight. The original had been cut, and to its remains someone attache a rubberised cord. Currently I have parts covered in penetrating oil, as it's a bit rusty. My fan sounds very terrible when running, and the blades don't turn smoothly, so it's gonna be a project. The grease fittings are also pretty well stuck on, so I'm not sure how I'm gonna replace the wicks.
It'll look show-room new when done, though, I hope.

Sounds like quite the project SB. Even if it sounds terrible at least it runs which means there is hope. Eagerly await seeing it.

Well, the hard part will be the balance. If it's been running off balance for a long time, it may never be able to balance again. Then, it's a brushed DC motor. Runs on AC, but brush motors go out quicker. If nothing else, though, it will look nice. LOL.

OK that may be tough to fix. I am doing good to put on a new cord. Which reminds me I have to buy a bunch to replace ugly new cords.
