I worked on my dollhouse this weekend and want to share what I accomplished.

The first photo shows my antique china head, whom I've named Sophronia, in the library with one of the books I made. If you look closely, you can see a dried flower between the pages.

The second photo is of my Jamestown fireplace. It came assembled, and I just sealed and stained it to match the other furniture. The insert is made to simulate a coal burning fire, and it realistically flickers! The two tiny candlesticks with candles are new purchases, and there is a Meiji era Japanese Satsuma miniature vase on its way for the mantel as well.

Third photo is of my latest creation for tea. It's a cake made with polymer clay, ribbon, and moss. This is a project from a UK dollhouse magazine, which gives step-by-step instructions. It was a lot of fun, but I have a lot of practicing to do! It's challenging working in this scale. The china tray pattern is Blue Onion from Reutter Porcelain of Germany.

The last photo is of a framed copy of a sampler. The sampler is dated 1741 and by Anna Burr. I reduced it and printed it but had to make it look like material rather than paper so I crumpled the paper over and over again until a softer material-like texture was achieved.

    Thanks for looking!

Clmason456, thank you so much for your very kind compliments. Much appreciated. I so love working on my dollhouse, and I'm very happy it inspires others as others have inspired me! I try to make sure that the details really work together as a cohesive whole to depict an era. I have a couple of books on Victorian home interiors and period pieces so I refer to them as well as to the Internet for ideas.

This are so well done that at first I thought they were the 1:1 version which is to say the real thing. Although of course I could tell the doll was a doll. Very well done with the flowers in pages of the book.
