Smile Soda Pop Glass Bottle. Unsure of bottling year, but bottled in Cincinnati, Ohio by the Union Bottling Works. Given to me by my Grandpa after he found it in the woods on his property. (Very well could have been originally tossed there by him or one of his brothers when they played in the woods as kids.) He has found other Smile Soda bottles over the years but has sold his to collectors. I will hold onto mine I believe, simply because it was given to me by him. The front label is pretty worn and hard to read but the bottle itself doesn't seem to have any chips or nicks. There is an "N" within a square and a "9" and "8" on the bottom of the bottle.
(Sorry the pictures are not very good quality. I will take a few of better quality later and include a picture of the bottom of the bottle as well.)
Any comments would be appreciated! I have seen other Smile Soda bottles that have the same labeling but never have seen one of the same exact bottle as mine. It would be neat to see one that is in better condition than mine is.
Nice bottle, too bad the front label is gone. Your bottle would date from the mid 1950's to the early 1960's. The N in a square says that the bottle was made by the Obear-Nestor Glass Company, East St. Louis, Illinois. I have seen Smile bottles with the same shape as yours from time to time.
Thanks for the comment! It's nice to know the approximate year it is from and who manufactured the bottle!
