This caught my eye the second I saw it. Love that Mid Century look. I think this pattern was discontinued in 1955. Going to have to show these to my mom and see if she remembers them.
Edit: Del Rey was introduced in 1955.

For the sake of accuracy, the Metlox Del Rey pattern was introduced in 1955. It was a popular pattern and was available for several years after that. The cheerful '50s look makes it popular again with fans of California dinnerware. Nice find.

The word that is obscured in the mark picture is "Poppytrail" - the Metlox dinnerware division.

Thank, Artfoot! I'll make that correction. Yeah, I got the whole box of dinnerware for $21. Made my day.

Where do locals do their antique shopping in NOLA? I was just in New Orleans a few weeks back. We walked past the shops on Royal St. They aren't really our style. They are all fancy French antiques. We were looking for your typical antique mall.

Yeah, you have to have serious expendable funds to shop on Royal St. I really only do the thrift shops on my tiny income. There are some good antique shops on Magazine St. in New Orleans, but the best antique shopping would be in Denham Springs, which is about an hour outside of New Orleans. There was some major flooding in that area, so I don't know how much of it was affected.
