I recently got this jeweled lamp on an online auction. I suspect it was made around approx 1900. It appears to have originally been an oil lamp that has been electrified at some point in time. It stands approx 19 inches tall (as I have it standing). I propped the shade up with boxes, as the lamp did not have a way of attaching the shade to the lamp. There are no markings on the lamp, except for a patent date of 5/12/14 on the part below the socket. I have tried to photograph it, but as you can see from the pic, it is not very clear. The lamp has an electric bulb socket on top and a bulb in the base of the lamp. There is a switch to light the top, light the base, or light both at the same time.

Has anyone seen this lamp before? I would be very interested in who was it's maker. I suspect the patent date is for the apparatus added during electrification. Not sure tho. Would appreciate any info you can provide. Thanks!

It is wonderful -- I *love* the multicolored glass jewels!! This has gotta be a way-too-obvious idea, but could it have had some sort of glass 'chimney' part to hold the shade up?

I love anything "jeweled." They are really hard to find (and usually expensive)! It must have had some sort of shade holder. It came with an extra part, but I couldn't think of any way it fit with the lamp. I still have the part in the case I might need it. Thanks for the nice comment. Antique lighting is my hobby.
