My ongoing effort at organizing some of my vintage lures has begun. Here are 3 display boards that I have started with.
The stands are 1/2" copper pipe that I put together and the boards were simple pine boards that I distressed and stained with vinegar, coffee, tea and steel wool, so I stuck my stain test board on here to show the differential.

spikeless great looking groups. my only recommendation is that your super careful with the amount of time you let the stain dry before mounting lures. i have seen them have a chemical reaction and the lure stick to the board. also i would love to work out a trade for that frog lure. hit me up brandon.hawk82@gmail.com

Yes, I am being careful. The boards have been aging for a few days and are heavily waxed but nonetheless the lures were only there temporarily for deciding placement purposes. Will probably wait for a few weeks and may seal before leaving them in place.
I really appreciate your offer of trading the Viking Frog but it and all of these hold far more sentimental than monetary or collectable value (and I am aware that the Viking Frog, Shakespeare Sardinia Minnow, Bass Oreno 2 Bings Weedless and some others are relatively high ticket items) in that they all came to me via my now long dead uncles when I was a child (turn 70 on my next b-day) and I fished all of the lures often. What my granddaughter does with them when they become hers will be entirely up to her, but for now, thanks but no thanks.

I came across some old fishing lures in my Dad's estate. I've been wondering how to display some of them and really like this idea. I was considering a deep shadow box but love the natural wood. Great idea!
