I found this interesting vase yesterday & think it might be by Welz. It is made from three layers of cased glass - clear over light orange & green aventurine spatter, with a white interior. It measures 20 cm tall, 3.5 c, across the square top rim, & 10.5 cm across the clear, applied footed base. The vase also features a clear, applied rigaree. The green aventurine suggests a Bohemian origin.

A princely $13. :-) I went into a shop to look at furniture (for once - trying to find a nice chest of drawers) & there it was, sitting on a dresser, enscrusted with candle wax inside & out. Still looking for the chest of drawers, though... :-)

I missed this before.... Have just seen it. Yes, this is a Welz piece. The decor is not seen that often, but it is definitely one of theirs.
