This rocking chair belonged to my Grandparents and was said to be handed down from my G/Grandfathers side. It was passed to my Mother upon the passing of my Grandparents in the early 60's and to myself upon my Mothers passing. I remember it in the early 50's and my 85 year old Uncle remembers it as a child. We were both told to stay off it. Family was from Kansas and prior to that I believe, Iowa.
Chair is of Mahogany wood with Brass strapping in four places, and looks to be carved, even at the top of the upright pcs.. Cloth seat and back are not original as is the finish on the wood. Was changed when loaned to my Mother in-law. The original was like an oil finish and the brass was dull. Height 43" Width 23" Plan to return to original finish.
Curious of the maker and style. Thank You
Very Much Appreciated
