People who go on my post regularly will recognize this brooch as Bernard Instone. Over the months I've been trying to get sets of his work together, which I'm slowly but surely beginning to do. This brooch is so typical of his work with the enameling of flowers and leaves in greens and blues and pink, I think this is my favourite colour combination. Also in this colour combo in some of his other pieces he has added marcasite. There are no marks and interestly the clasp is a C clasp. The enameling is in amazing condition, somebody as looked after it very well. I'll be adding other pieces of his work in the coming weeks.
Thanks for looking.
Hi Ken, yes I totally agree, I was lucky with this one.
You have trained me well Jean, I immediately recognised this as Instone.
I'm looking forward to all of your posts!
Hello Karen, this type of work by Bernard Instone is instantly recognizable. I've bought a necklace today which as marcasite and the same colours as this brooch. I really need to get my act together and catalogue them, I must have well over 100 pieces. Oh well that's another project in the pipeline.
Many thanks
