Request information of any of this vase and marking on bottom
Family member brought it in Japan some 30yrs plus ago
Just over 40cm high and 20cm wide opening at top is 8cm which slops down to 3cm (small bunch of flowers could fit)
Vase is not light in weight
It looks like porcelain from England, Victorian, like Fieldings or Crown Devon,or maybe even Italian. I'm not saying it's not Japanese made but if they made itthe style is certainly Western.
Are the marks on the bottom kanji do you think?
Thank you for your info don't know anything about marking
Was given vase by a family member who didn't know anything either
Beautiful blush ivory vase! It's certainly in Western style. The Japanese Nippon successfully imitated this style and their ware was aimed at the Western World. But they were making porcelain. To me your vase looks like earthenware, not porcelain.
