    This was handed down to me it was my mother's necklace that she wore when she got married back in 1957 so the necklace is 63 years old which she is from Italy and the necklace came from Italy.it looks like on the clasp it's got the letters m r the number 750 and I can't make out what the other part has on it

      750 is the continental mark for 18K gold. The necklace also has the Italian registry marks, but I have to be able to see the marks to tell you more.

      Take another picture of the marks. You can put 4 pictures here. Make sure you save them in the correct orientation.

      I should say - take another picture SHOWING the marks! She needs to see the marks so she maybe able to tell you who made it.

      You can take photos of the marks under a magnifying glass, or better a loupe if you have one, and post them with the other photos.
