    Hi there
I thought this would be as good a place as any to find out some information on my late grandads ring.
There is no knowledge of it throughout the family and it was found at the bottom of a very full toolbox.
Any information on this would be great.
    Many thanks

Double gold purity marks for 18K. The 0.750 is a continental purity mark, the 18K normally a USA gold purity mark. I gather those are his initials. There isn't anything else I can tell you about it because the ring has no maker marks.

Thank you for the reply. I didn't realise about double gold purity?
It would make sense for them to be his initials but unfortunately they are not.
I did wonder whether or not it was a make or brand from some time?

Just a thought: My dad had matching rings made for him and my mom. His had her initial and hers had his. Maybe they initial were from a lady??

Sorry for the late reply @freiheit
This would be a logical explanation, however we know of no initials that match.
I am wondering if he found this ring and put it away for safe keeping at some point!
Maybe somebody out there is looking for it.

Maybe someone owed him money and he had this to hold. Great ring, wish I had one like it with my initials.

The initials were done in white gold. Some gold jewelry pieces have double purity marks. I have a swan brooch posted here that has 14K and 585 stamped on it. Genuine, as the jeweler examined it thoroughly. There are also counterfeit "gold" items that are double stamped.
