I would like to know more about this lamp that's been in the family for decades. It appears to be cast brass, and has an agate enhancement. The only markings, " pat. app. for, E711" with initials "WE". My guess is 1920s. I would appreciate any informtion and approximate value.
Yeah it is def 1920s or early 30s.The ball is slag glass made by Houze. They made most of this type of slag glass in that time period. But they made glass for many manufacturing companies including Vidrio. So this doesn't really help to ID the lamp. This lamp is pure Art Deco.I would ay this is the original shade.A real beauty!!!P.S Shine a blacklight on the ball you will get a surprise. They put uranium oxide in the glass. The blacklight makes it glow a bright green.
I assume the shade is in good condition. As a collector of this type of lamp I would estimate the value between $65 and $100.The market is VERY fickle right now with the economy the way it is.If I had the extra cash right now I would offer you $75.Origional shades in good condition can make a huge difference,
We'll just keep the lamp in the family, but thank you for your reply, info, and offer.
