    fortapache will probably like this -- thanks to him I know this is called "graniteware" instead of just 'porcelain enameled'!! :-)

    This old steel funnel is about 4" high and 5" around. Sadly its finish shows plenty of dings but, on the other hand, if it is actually close to a hundred years old, maybe it's not *that* bad -- it still looks nifty hanging in the kitchen, even if I'd probably never use it to prepare food...?! It was found in a boxful of assorted kitchen junk from a storage locker. The handle and rim are black.

      Oh wow this is nice. I don't see many graniteware funnels in anything other than gray. In fact I think I have only seen one in person and I bought it.
      I call those dings beauty marks. Should be safe to use as long as there is no rust.
      It could easily be 100 if it isn't give a few years and it will be.

      Sometimes they also call it spatterware. I am not sure if that helps, or just confuses.
