I am trying to find out what kind of doll this is and what era it is from. It has been in the family for many generations, but I don't know anything about it. It is in the case that it has been in for many generations. If anyone could help with information on her I would appreciate it. She is now sitting in my curio cabinet, protected for many more generations to come.
Please email me with any ideas jera.rick.mcnett@gmail.com
Thank you in advance
She has a china doll head but what are hands made of ? I am trying to figure out if they were added later with body or original to her . Can you do a photo of close up of hands and back of body ?
Welcome to CW
She is wonderful and adorable!! She is made to be "chubby" so I wonder if she has a "brand name" associated with that like "Campbell Kids" do?
No she has no name and this type of body is common to find . I think she was dressed as a military doll but not sure she is all original . I would date her 1940's but think she had a military belt and maybe a hat . Her hands do not look correct .
How wonderful your family has passed her down and your keeping her safe on display . Be sure and keep out of direct sunlight when displaying .
Her hands are the same material as her face. I don't know if she is a china doll or a porcelain doll. All of her facial is paint, no real like eyeballs, and the hair is painted also. I don't know if she ever had a belt, as she has lived in this display case as long as I can remember, so I don't know if the blue line at her waist is the true color of her outfit and the rest is faded over time? I thought she looked like a German Pincushion doll but am not sure, as the family tree is German and Irish. I don't know if it came from another country as GGG down to Great Grandparents were military and also migrated from Germany and Ireland way back in the 1800's to early 1900's.
