My great-uncle gave this rocking chair to me and told me that it was my step-grandmother's father's chair. I was told it was over a hundred years old. Underneath the chair is burlap and what looks like straw as the stuffing. I have looked for a tag or branding of some kind and can not see any. I would love for someone to tell me who might have made this chair and the year it was made.

unless there is a manufacturers stamp or lable you will never know who made this chair. Quarter sawn oak, early 1900's.

I have this exact chair. Mine was made around around 1890 (give or take a few years).
