A nice WWII Period Slouch Hat to the Royal Scots. The Slouch is in nice condition for its age, but does show some campaign wear. To the side is a Royal Scots badge in good condition. I believe this Slouch was worn by a soldier of the Royal Scots in the Burma Campaign. Slouch Hats were worn in the Burma Campaign because they were light and helped with the heat. The liner is in good condition, however there is no chinstrap. Overall a nice condition Slouch to the Royal Scots.
The 1st Battalion, Royal Scots served in Burma, first seeing action in the Arakan operations from March to May 1943, and then withdrawing into India. It later saw action at the infamous Battle of Kohima in 1944 and the Battle of Mandalay in 1945. It was withdrawn to India to rest and refit in April 1945, and moved to Singapore in December.
