I found this adorable Mickey Mouse doll the other day at the flea market. Since there was no marking on the doll, I have done some research and this is what I have found so far.
-Possibility of Charlotte Clark Prototype Mickey Mouse doll?
-1930s Steamboat Willie?
-1930s Knickerbocker?
-1930s Steiff Mickey Mouse doll?
It is 2.5" tall. Inner doll frame seems to be a metal wire. Unusual showing of Mickey's tongue. Nose material seems to be a leather or plastic. The eyes seems to be made of plastic but not sure.
I'm leaning towards Steiff Mickey Mouse doll possibly made in Germany? The reason for that is that the face features and characteristics of the doll does not concur with any other old (1930s) Mickey Mouse dolls made in the US. What say you? Let's open up a forum. Hi!
You got the country right - this is German, made by the Schuco company in the 1960s (in the "Bigo Bello" range).
Cool doll! :)
