This Burmese glass epergne trumpet is most likely from a fairy lamp epergne (a table centrepiece, often on a mirror plateau, which consisted of a mix of fairy lamps & flower holders). It was purchased in London's Portobello Road in 2003, & had the silverplate stand with it, although I strongly suspect it is not original. Nevertheless, it makes a good display solution for an item which cannot stand on its own.
The glass shades from a pale, custard yellow to a deep salmon pink, & has a rarely seen glossy finish. Most Burmese glass has a satin finish.
It measures 13.5 cm tall, 7.5 cm across the flared, fire polished top rim, & 1.7 cm across the pegged base. When in the stand, it measures 16.5 cm tall. There is a small applied rigaree, which besides being decorative, would have assisted in holding the trumpet in place within a metal framework.
Made by Thomas Webb & Sons of Stourbridge, England.

It's an ideal blend of the decorative & functional.

Posey holders for fairy lamp epergnes and sociables are a little different. A large size with down turned rim is usually a center piece. The smaller size is a side piece. The rings are functional, plain not decorative. The prunt, usually has one but not always, is a berry design. Following link will take you to a photo comparing the two.
