I have 3 letters signed by J Edgar Hoover. All the letters were written to an FBI agent in the 1940s. The signatures are definitely real signatures, rather than printed or autopen. When I looked on eBay there's a lot of Hoover signed letters, and a huge range of prices. Some don't even sell when priced under $20. This is why I'm confused as if these are all actual J Edgar Hoover signatures or secretarial signatures. Did J Edgar Hoover sign everything himself?
Often his letters were signed by a secretary or an assistant . Before selling you would have to have them authenticated. The subject matter is sometimes more important.Good luck with them.
