This is a small chair, and doesn't seem to be a chair in which one sits! The one leg is wobbly. Perhaps if that were not the case, it would be sit-able. A friend gave it to me. So far, I cannot find any information about it, or its value. Can anyone help?
I have this same style chair. It was my mother's. I have been told that its purpose was for reading or telling stories to young children, and that there is a smaller version of this chair for the child. I'm trying to learn more about it myself.
How neat! Thank you for your comment. Again, I'm not sure I would trust the chair's strength to sit on it. Do you know the year of the chair or what it's called?
I definitely wouldn't sit on this chair either, and I never saw my mother sit in it. It's a "just for pretty" chair. Smile. I just Googled "antique 3 legged storybook chair" and this is what I found. I think you'll appreciate the information: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-3-Legged-Wood-Chair-Stool-Mid-Century-RARE-UNIQUE/201977252020. The picture of this one looks just like mine. Hope this helps.
Similar to a Spanish birthing chair (which isn't really suitable for great physical activity), I have one posted on CW too. A chair has four legs a stool three so its a stool really.
Thank you so much for your comments. Yes, I agree that stool is most appropriate. And, the link to eBay calls it a chair stool. Interesting!
