I found this beautiful bronze plaque on Tuesday as well.It is signed by the sculptor. This Madonna and Child plaque is beautiful and the picture dosnt do it justice. Its 9 ×12 inches and weighs about 8 pounds.I was thrilled to get it for 15.00

Gosh! That is HEAVY. Do you suppose it hung in a church??

It probably was made for a church interior.

I wonder why it was made in the shape of a book--maybe supposed to represent a Bible, and laid on a table. or entrway as a greeting to the congregation--and how was it passed from a church for sale publically? Seems it would be passed to another Spiritual place where comfort is needed. Could have been part of a Funeral Home decor .
