Waterfall rocking chair??

I was told this was an early 1800's waterfall rocking chair. I have not been able to find any information on it. It is made of maple, stained with a Mohegany stain. Also was told this was called a poor mans's mohogany finish.. would like to get more info on it and where I might be able to find a replacement seat for it.
