I am having trouble trying to identify the style of this chair. I acquired four of these chairs and have started restoration of them. I have a hunch they are from the late 1870's - 90's. Are they of the Gothic or Rennaisance revival style????. The chairs are made of oak and are quite sturdy.

Can anyone identify the period and possible age if these chairs?
Also, when I acquired them, they were covered in a dark leather. Is this the fabric typical for these chairs or was another textile and pattern predominantly used during that time?

    Looking forward to responses!!
