This is a 1908 New Home treadle in a parlor cabinet. This was an accidental acquisition. I was looking for a reasonable solid-wood cabinet for another project, and found this on Craigslist. When I went to see it, the dimensions worked well but it was VERY heavy to move. I opened it up and there was a complete treadle assy. inside! The man just wanted the cabinet out, and didn't care about the machine going along for the ride. I took it and ran with a huge grin. It's fully functional, but I need to do a few small repairs to the cabinet, and want to give it a general cleaning and machine service. This one will eventually move out of my collection, because I have too many treadles already.

Hi and thank you for the nice words. And a reliable Bernina is a good thing, indeed. I have one I inherited and still want to go through and make sure it is running tip-top now that I've learned. You don't need a mechanic. You can learn to do it all yourself. I did. :D And space? Yeah, that's definitely an issue. I've only posted a few of my 25+ machines. I am in the process of refurbishing many so I can downsize to a couple collectibles that are staying as functioning art, and a few others that are my go-to machines for various projects. I'd suggest joining a vintage sewing machine club - there's a Bernina specific one and the admins are GREAT- very willing to teach an enthusiastic newcomer how to care for it. If you conquer the Bernina, the older ones are easier! <3
