After my mother passed in March of this year, as the only daughter I inherited all of hers and her Mother's jewelry. There is a bit of fine jewelry, albeit, inexpensive fine jewelry but more fascinating is the large amount of costume jewelry. 90% of the costume jewelry belonged to my Grandmother.
She was born in the early 1900's, so any amount of jewelry that would have been accumulated to my way of thinking/guessing from 1930's to 1970's (late). She died in the early 80's. She seemed to LOVE brooches, Canadian Maple leaves, etc. She also either was a fan of jewelry that looked like grapes or it was a fad at some point.
This necklace/pendant is very elaborate. I think it's fairly dazzling/ornate. Would like to know time period it was from if anyone has a way to tell....
The back is stamped with 'ART'.

Thanks very much for identifying the company (and founder). I've been googling the ART © mark by itself trying to identify when the company would have used this 'stamp/mark' as opposed to 2 others that were used. Thus far I haven't been able to find this information and when I go through hundreds upon hundreds of images trying to find something that even resembles this piece, I come up empty handed.
Does anyone know how to refer to the shape of the pendant part of the necklace? I thought of using the word starburst but I think that is incorrect. This one is definitely a challenge for me to 'date it' if nothing else.
I did find one article that stated "On pieces made after 1955, “ART” is followed by the copyright symbol". There is not a lot of detailed info about Arthur Pepper and his company. Assuming the author of the article is correct, then the necklace dates after 1955. I'm not sure why I feel it would NOT have been made in the 70's, I feel it was made somewhere in the late 50's to late 60's. Obviously though, I'm a newbie so all of this is conjecture on my part.

Years ago I had that piece in citrine colored stones. I think it is just gorgeous and the necklace is fabulous complement to it. The chain on mine was plain. Wish I still had it.
