After Mom passed in March of this year, I inherited all of hers and her Mother's jewelry. There is a bit of fine jewelry, but more fascinating is the large amount of costume jewelry. 90% of the costume jewelry belonged to my Grandmother.
She was born in early 1900's, so any amount of jewelry that would have likely been accumulated from 30's to 70's (late). She died in early 80's. She seemed to LOVE brooches, Canadian Maple leaves, etc.
This is another of my Grandmother's pins. It was tangled with 3 necklaces that all had very FINE chains so it took me days off and on to untangle everything.
I have not located any marks at this point. I decided to go ahead and post in case this 'style' was familiar to anyone from a time period/decade standpoint.
Pretty! Called a Pinwheel design.
You'll find that nutsabotas6 (Ken) knows more about costume jewelry than the rest of us put together.
:-)))))))
Efesgirl - I'd say you're really good in the knowledge area as well. I appreciate clarification on the design name too.!
nutsabotas6 - Thanks as always. I will go look Judy Lee Jewelry up. I think this also could double as a throwing star - it literally took me well over 8 people hours to untangle 3 different necklaces that had been tossed into an old bag and stashed in a jewelry box (one of a few) that was falling apart. I literally wondered at times if it would be worth untangling the pin at all but I'm glad I did.
